Treatment focuses on communication, interaction, change and transitions, behaviors and responses, social competencies and sensory processing. Our staff; Clinical Psychologist, ABA Therapists, Speech Therapist, and Occupational Therapists are fully integrated into treatment programs.
The Center measures progress through objective and continual observation and assessment. The individual’s family is viewed as a full partner in the therapeutic process. The Center provides the family with the support, education, treatment and resources that are needed to appropriately advocate for the person with special needs. The Center also coordinates with agencies that are significantly involved in the individual's clinical, behavior, educational or occupational program to ensure a comprehensive approach to treatment.
The following treatment programs are available:
Early Intervention Program is a center-based program for children ages 2-5 years old. The program’s primary goal is to address the core deficits of development so that each child may improve upon their communication, social interaction, self-regulation and behaviors. The children participate in predetermined structured activities each day that are based upon the goals defined in their individual treatment plan. The program is held Tuesday through Friday from 9:00am to 14.00 hours.
The Individual Therapy Program is for people ages 5-9 diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, delayed development, Down Syndrome, Attention Deficit (Hyperactive) Disorder and Learning Disabilities. The therapy is offered in one-on-one therapy sessions for individuals. Sessions are typically scheduled weekly and aim to address each individual's developmental needs and build upon strengths.
Social Competency Program
Our Social Competency Program is for children and teens between the ages of 5 and 9. Individuals attending the program participate in a variety of groups that address identifying and interpreting social cues, perspective taking, understanding emotions and feelings, self-esteem and working collaboratively with others.
Children and teens attend one day a week for one and a half hours; the program operates year-round. Individuals are grouped by their developmental levels and individual needs. The child-to-staff ratio is three-to-one and the program is held on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 and 13.00-14.30 hours.
